Jamira ...

Jamira is a defensive character with a sharp tongue. Her arrival at Haven Hope has caused a bit of a stir as she can seem intimidating when she's not feeling confident. Despite all this she has a kind heart and has befriended Colleen who used to get teased a lot before Jamira took her under her wing.
Jamira used to live at May Blossom House along with Jamie, Naj, Freddy, Colleen and Charissa. But there was a fire there which made it uninhabitable. Fortunately nobody was hurt because it happened whilst most of the inhabitants were out on a trip. But there had been some confusion during the trip about where our 'gang of six' had got to...
Before she was a 'looked after child', Jamira was involved with a violent gang on the estate where she lived. Jamira had a boyfriend who got shot and killed. This was the worst thing that ever happened to her and she realised things had to change fast.
Jamira loves Karioke and has an excellent singing voice. Everybody thinks she ought to go on X Factor!
She is also a competant horse-rider. This is because when she attended an inner-city school she could never concentrate on the lessons and her teachers were worried about her. Sometimes she didn't come into school at all and other times she had unexplained bruises on her face and arms. To try and help Jamira, she was offered the chance to take riding lessons and help out on an inner-city farm. Although she didn't enjoy the mucking out, Jamira loved the horses and won quite a few rosettes at a local gymkhana. At Haven Hope, Jamira's been given responsibility for looking after Remus, the new pony.
Jamira wears an 'Ooga Booga' dress made out of 100% cotton jersey from http://www.ecoearthfabrics.co.uk, as well as a fake fur fabric waistcoat and Ug boots.
